300 years of laundry culture in Scotland and across Europe
This series of legacy proposals develops new contributions to the shared material culture revealed on Our Linen Stories tour in collaboration with colleagues and organisations met en route.
These proposals recognise Scotland’s part in the stories of Europe and aim to strengthen links with our neighbour ‘linen nations’.
By establishing small task groups for each, we hope to progress from proposal to development stage. Challenges are varied including time on task and clarifying roles, agreeing contracts where required.
As a member of ICOM UK (International Committee of Museums) your curator has devised projects that acknowledge the vital collaborative role of museums, attempting to explore new ways to link and celebrate design history and material culture.
