Dear Friends,

I’m delighted to open the book on a special chapter for Journeys in Design this month, engaging cultures of hope and fellowship, home and away, called Chasing Rainbows.

Over the next four weeks you are invited to join us online Thursdays at Three, Fridays at Four and Sundays at One, for design discussions, spectral performances and Your Chasing Rainbows Exhibition. We journey in design from Scotland to far flung corners of the world, ending up in New York City, USA. Sign up as the programme unfolds via Eventbrite.

Your Chasing Rainbows Exhibition

In Scotland, the appearance of rainbow designs across the country in windows and elsewhere, signals a big ‘thank you’ to those putting themselves in harm’s way for others; it has also contributed to our growing sense of community.

This month we are calling on you to submit pictures of rainbow images from your own locality wherever you are in the world to help build an online exhibition. Please send your pics via email or our social media channels Instagram & Facebook & Twitter  and we will construct an exhibition to include all entries received. If you can, let us know where the image was taken and offer whatever word or two you may wish.

Wild Weaving Guides and Workshops

With huge thanks to Artist Akshata Mokashi in Mumbai, I face this month with new skills as a wild weaver and an allied sense of calm. I hope you enjoyed our April online workshops and if you took part, that you experienced some sense of weaving for well-being as confirmed by our Wild Weavers community.

Your engagement was very positive and Journeys in Design will continue to commission our Wild Weaving Workshops to air on the last Tuesday of each month. We are inviting additional guest weavers from all over Scotland to offer new insights as we journey. Please note, no experience necessary and a degree of well being almost guaranteed!

Humans are social beings. Fellowship and fun together helps keep us emotionally healthy. I hope you enjoy Chasing Rainbows with us this month and can find time to enrich our exhibition with your images. Please keep in touch and spread the word: the more the merrier on our Journeys in Design.

Wishing you well
on behalf of all the team,
John
