Inspired by the weavers met during Our Linen Story tours, Journeys in Design is supporting the development of local ‘Wild Weaving’ workshops. In Edinburgh we are delighted to partner with Artiscience Library at Summerhall. Our Inaugural Workshop Lead is Akshata Mokashi MA (Distinction) HWU Textile and Design.

Attendees weave the weft of a pre-warped frame using materials found during a preceding walk in The Meadows, harnessing the hand-crafting and meditative benefits of walking and weaving. Assemble at Summerhall Entrance at 11am. Dress for the weather. All materials and light refreshments provided.

In September we are joined by Guest Weaver James Donald of PickOne to discuss elements of Weaving Practice in a separate talk from 1.30pm to 2.15pm. Attendees of the workshop are automatically offered a place at the Weavers Tales talk by James Donald.

Please note this event takes place at Summerhall not Dovecot Studios.
